Winter Wishes Brings Holiday Cheer in Many Ways

Posted on November 18, 2012. Filed under: Volunteering is Hot! |

For many the holidays means coming together with family and friends around a meal.  So it seems only natural to want to volunteer to serve a meal to those who need it during the holiday season.  Many volunteers seeking these opportunities will come up disappointed.  These volunteer opportunities are not only extremely popular but there just aren’t very many volunteer slots.  Often holiday meal sites fill their volunteer slots weeks or even months in advance.  However, never fear!  There are still plenty of ways to help out during the holidays.

Check out HandsOn’s list of great holiday volunteer needs, Winter Wishes.  Volunteer from home with the Service to Go project, Holiday cards for Seniors.  Enjoy the cool and crisp winter air at the Fall Leaf Haul.  Ring the bell at  a Salvation Army collection site across the region.  There are also a list of great ways you can donate to local charities.  So broaden your horizons this holiday season and look beyond serving a meal!  Check out Winter Wishes today!
